Charlotte Flair isn’t bothered by not being in the singles title picture at WrestleMania 42—and she’s making that clear.
After questions were raised about why Charlotte Flair isn’t competing for a women’s championship this year, the multi-time champion addressed the situation directly while speaking on Busted Open Radio. With Flair set to team up with Alexa Bliss in a Women’s Tag Team Title match, some have viewed it as a step away from her usual WrestleMania limelight.
Flair made it clear she doesn’t see it that way at all. The Queen of WWE explained that, given everything surrounding her recent run and history with Bliss, this direction actually makes sense heading into WrestleMania 42.
“I think, given the year and coming off last year’s WrestleMania, it would be odd not to be in something with Lexi—whether beside her or against her.”
Rather than focusing on the title itself, Flair made it clear she’s focused on the performance—and believes she’ll still stand out no matter where she’s placed on the card.
“The way I look at it, whether it’s my entrance, I’m given 15–30 minutes, people are still going to walk away from WrestleMania going, ‘That’s why she’s Charlotte Flair.’”
She also shut down the idea that being in a tag match changes her intensity or competitive edge, making it clear she’s approaching this the same way she would any marquee singles bout.
“Just because I’m in a tag doesn’t mean the edge, competitiveness—whatever I have—trust me, that’s all there. I’m just going to do the best with everything I have.”
Charlotte Flair isn’t buying into the idea that being in a tag match at WrestleMania is a downgrade. Instead, she’s making it clear that no matter where she’s placed on the card, she expects to remind everyone exactly why she’s been at the top of WWE’s women’s division for so long. WrestleMania has always been about defining performances, and Flair is making it clear she plans to deliver one—title or not.
Now it comes down to this—does Charlotte Flair prove her point and walk out of WrestleMania 42 reminding everyone exactly why she’s still at the top, or does this tag team move signal a real shift in her position on the card? Drop your thoughts and let’s hear it.
