Things got real on the April 4 episode of WWE SmackDown when Tiffany Stratton took a shot at Charlotte Flair’s personal life, referencing her “three divorces” during a fiery promo. Charlotte didn’t hold back either, firing right back with a line that Tiffany’s real-life boyfriend Ludwig Kaiser had slid into her DMs. The segment was so tense, WWE later edited those comments out of their official video recaps.
Now, Charlotte Flair is speaking out about the now-infamous promo exchange—and she’s trying to move forward.
Appearing on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Charlotte was asked if she was comfortable with how personal the storyline had become. Her response? Classic Flair. “Wrestling is this circus [laughs]. I’m happy and thankful that people want to see the match. I’m happy and thankful that they are invested. We’ve moved past that unfortunate event.”
Charlotte didn’t hide the fact that the buildup had its challenges, especially given her return from injury. “Only having two TV matches and going into WrestleMania with an opponent I have not touched, I feel that pressure,” she admitted. “For me, as a performer, and what I hold my expectations to be… I’m so excited to make a moment.”
While she didn’t confirm whether Tiffany’s lines were scripted or a surprise, she gave a very pointed comment about walking away from the drama. “Here’s the thing, I got on my jet, I went home and those people still live in Chicago.”
Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton is locked in for WrestleMania 41—and with personal jabs flying and real-life tension in the air, this one might be even messier than it looks on paper.
