It looks like WWE wasn’t just building drama with Chad Gable’s segment on RAW — they were covering for real-life issues. A new report reveals Gable is dealing with a legitimate injury serious enough to require surgery.
According to PWInsiderElite.com, Gable is slated to undergo surgery in early July to address the undisclosed injury. While WWE used an on-screen attack from Penta to explain his absence, the real reason is much more significant.
Bodyslam.net first reported that the injury has already forced creative changes, with WWE deciding to either pull Gable completely from television or drastically cut back his schedule while he heals.
At this time, the exact nature of the injury hasn’t been made public. It’s also unclear how long Gable will be out of action following surgery or if he’ll continue working behind the scenes in a limited capacity.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Gable, who has been gaining serious momentum on RAW. His heel turn has seen him mentor the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile while stirring up major trouble with Sami Zayn over the Intercontinental Championship. Now, with surgery on the horizon, those plans will have to pause.
For fans, it’s another frustrating setback for one of RAW’s most reliable workhorses. But given Gable’s dedication, it’s safe to say he’ll be pushing hard for a comeback once he’s medically cleared.
