Ever since Cedric Alexander was released by WWE earlier this year, many fans have been clamoring to see him make his way to AEW and join MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. While there’s no guarantee that will happen, Alexander has now addressed the possibility of joining The Hurt Syndicate.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Cedric Alexander about the possibility of joining The Hurt Syndicate in AEW. After his WWE release, his wife told him that everything happens for a reason and that it would work out for the better. His immediate thought was that he would soon be reunited with his former stablemates.
“My wife said when I was released, ‘The world works in mysterious ways, but it’s for the better. You don’t know why yet, but it’s for the better.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I do know why—I’m gonna be with the boys later.'”
Cedric Alexander made it clear he is definitely interested in going to AEW and reuniting with The Hurt Syndicate. He feels like his time in the group wasn’t fully explored and wants a chance to continue that story. While some fans prefer Will Hobbs in the faction, Alexander is excited to join because he believes there’s still a lot to do with the group.
“100%. That’s a big chapter of my career that I really felt was never fully explored, and I think it’ll be great to finish that out. I see a lot of people who don’t want to see me in the Hurt Syndicate—they want to see Will Hobbs. Yeah, definitely want to join them. There’s so much meat on the bone that I would like to get to.”
Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are the current AEW Tag Team Champions, and together with MVP, they are dominating the tag team scene in the company. Even then, many fans definitely want to see Cedric Alexander debut in AEW and join the group as soon as possible.
With AEW constantly expanding its roster, it will be interesting to see whether Cedric Alexander makes his debut and reunites with his former allies. After all, many felt The Hurt Syndicate was broken up far too early in WWE, and Alexander’s joining them could finally elevate the group as a whole.
