Cedric Alexander is settling into his run in TNA, and he’s making it clear that the move didn’t just change where he wrestles — it changed how he sees himself as a performer.

During a conversation with the Know Your Wrestling podcast, Alexander spoke openly about how his transition away from his previous environment allowed him to finally embrace who he really is inside the ring.

Alexander explained that before joining TNA, he felt limited creatively and boxed into expectations that didn’t fully match his personality. He described feeling like he had to follow a strict set of rules rather than fully express himself as a character and athlete. According to Alexander, the shift to TNA gave him the space to break away from those restrictions and present a more authentic version of himself to fans.

“Yeah. Yeah. I would say a more authentic version of myself. I felt like before coming to TNA, I was, you know, still caught in that bubble of you can't do this, you can't do that. You know, there's so many… what's the word I'm looking for? Barriers put on, you know, things you can and can't do and XYZ.”

Alexander continued by pointing to the freedom he feels now compared to before, noting that his current situation allows him to try new ideas and bring more of his natural personality into his work. He credited TNA with trusting him to take chances creatively and allowing him to move forward without the same kind of limitations he previously experienced.

“TNA is really freeing in that respect because if you can imagine it, if it's something that works for you and you can put it out there, let's run with it. And TNA's been very good with allowing me to just express myself.”

With TNA continuing to rebuild momentum and bring in established names, Alexander’s remarks add to the conversation about how different wrestling environments can impact talent development and long-term success.

Cedric Alexander now appears focused on proving what he can do when given room to operate without limits, and his recent comments suggest that this chapter of his career may look very different from what fans saw before.

What do you think about Cedric Alexander saying TNA gave him the freedom he felt he was missing earlier in his career, and do you believe this kind of creative control makes a noticeable difference for wrestlers?
