The Hurt Business is back together—at least for now. Bobby Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander reunited publicly for the first time since their WWE run ended, appearing together at River City Wrestling Con. And while this might be a one-off, Cedric made it clear there’s always a chance of more down the line.
The reunion also marked the first time Cedric has stood alongside the group since his run in AEW’s Hurt Syndicate, making the moment even more significant for fans. During Going Ringside with Scott Johnson, Cedric was asked what it meant to be back with his old crew.
“Well, of course, this just means, you know, the band’s back together for at least one time. One time, one night only… maybe more in the future. We’ll see. We’ll see.”
MVP couldn’t resist cracking a joke about the reason for the reunion.
“Means somebody paid us to be here.”
Shelton Benjamin and MVP then kept the laughs going, with MVP reminding everyone that business is always business.
“Yeah… here’s the price. The price is right. Business commerce never stops.”
While fans were excited to see the group together again, it’s worth noting that the Hurt Business is now divided across different companies. Cedric Alexander currently competes for TNA Wrestling, where he’s carving out his own path. Meanwhile, Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin are all signed to AEW, where they’ve reunited as The Hurt Syndicate—this time with MJF also aligned with the group.
With the original group spread across promotions, a full-time reunion isn’t on the table just yet—but based on Cedric’s teasing, fans shouldn’t rule it out down the road.
Whether it’s a one-night payday or the start of something bigger, one thing’s for sure—the Hurt Business knows how to keep fans talking and the cash flowing.
