Carmella isn’t lacing up her boots just yet. The former WWE star opened up in a revealing interview with Sports Illustrated, making it clear that stepping back into the ring isn’t on her radar right now.
“I think at some point I’d love to put my Jordans back on, move on back out there and get in the ring again at some point. Just not right now,” Carmella said. “I’m trying to focus on other things.”
Instead of wrestling, Carmella is all in on building her brand and embracing life outside WWE. “I feel like I did that for 12 years and now I’m really trying to just focus on being a mom, building my brand, building Snatch,” she added.
Despite closing the door on wrestling for now, Carmella is setting her sights on a different kind of spotlight. “I’m on Sports Illustrated right now. I’m manifesting being on SI Swim. That’s like bucket list of mine. I’m pretty big on manifesting,” she said.
Reflecting on her WWE career, Carmella acknowledged her accomplishments but is ready for something new. “I never in my life thought I would be in WWE and I did that and I was champion. I did all these things as part of the women’s evolution. What else can I do? Who knows?”
Carmella’s WWE exit in early 2025 marked the end of a 12-year run that saw her rise from a valet in NXT to a SmackDown Women’s Champion. While she’s not shutting the door completely on a wrestling return, her focus now is on her family, her brand, and exploring new opportunities.
Carmella’s story isn’t over — it’s just taking a different path. With her eyes set on new goals outside the ring, the question remains: How will she leave her mark next? Only time will tell.
