Carlos Silva has now responded to backlash over Trick Williams retaining the TNA World Title and Jacy Jayne winning the Knockouts Title at TNA Slammiversary.
While speaking on the Battleground podcast, Carlos Silva responded to backlash after fans were upset that WWE wrestlers Trick Williams and Jacy Jayne are holding TNA titles instead of current TNA stars. He said he understands why fans feel that way. But he also said this is part of how wrestling stories work.
Silva pointed out that there were some really good moments at Slammiversary, like with Leon, and there will be more exciting things coming as they get ready for Bound for Glory.
Carlos said these kinds of matches happen when you’re building interesting stories between different wrestling companies. He’s happy fans are talking about it because it shows they care. He noted that TNA cares as well and they want to keep growing the show together with the fans.
“Look, how do you respond? You respond by saying, I understand and I get it. If you saw the look on my face—look, I mean, that’s all part of wrestling. I think there were some great payoffs at Slammiversary, like with Leon, who we talked about. And there’s going to be more great payoffs as we build toward Bound for Glory.
These are the paths that happen when you build these kinds of matchups. So to the fans, I’d say this: I’m glad they’re talking about it. That means we matter, it means they care—and we care. And we’re going to keep growing it together.”
While some fans aren’t happy about WWE stars becoming champions in TNA, Carlos Silva believes it’s all part of a bigger story that will help TNA grow. With Bound for Glory coming up, it’s clear that TNA has big plans that will pay off, so we’ll have to see how it all plays out in the coming months.
