TNA Wrestling just delivered a key update about its big network switch, and it settles one of the biggest questions fans have been debating this week: Why stay on Thursday? With TNA iMPACT! officially landing on AMC starting January 15, 2026, plenty of fans assumed the show would hop to another night. But according to TNA President Carlos Silva, Thursday isn’t just tradition — it’s strategy.

The clarification came during Silva’s appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, where Helwani got straight to the point and asked why Thursday was the night TNA locked in. Ariel Helwani kicked it off by asking:

“Why was Thursday chosen for TNA iMPACT?”

Silva explained that the choice was deliberate and rooted in consistency, audience behavior, and AMC’s programming vision:

“You know, I think everyone has kind of marked their spot in the sand during the wrestling week. We’ve been on Thursday nights for quite a while now, and we’ve been a high-rated show on AXS TV. In working with AMC, they liked the idea of Thursday night as a lead-in to the weekend—it fits their audience well, so we stuck with it.”

He also revealed one key tweak fans can expect when the show switches networks:

“The one change we did make is moving the show from 8–10 PM ET to 9–11 PM ET. That’s the slot AMC believes works best for both their viewers and our fanbase to bring in the biggest possible audience on Thursday nights.”

So the update is clear: TNA isn’t just staying on Thursday out of habit — AMC sees Thursday as a prime launchpad heading into the weekend, and TNA’s strong performance on that night made the decision a natural fit.

As the January move inches closer, all eyes will be on how the shift to AMC — and the new timeslot — shapes TNA’s next chapter.
