TNA Wrestling has been going through a lot of changes under Carlos Silva’s leadership, especially thanks to their partnership with WWE. However, there are still people who want TNA to make a new video game, and now Silva has confirmed that’s one of TNA’s goals now.
While speaking to Daily Star, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that a new TNA video game is on the company’s list of goals. While it wasn’t a priority during his first six months in charge, it has now been added to their plans.
Silva explained that the focus early on was on building and delivering key successes, such as the work done for Slammiversary. He noted that trying to take on too many projects at once can prevent progress, so the company concentrated on achieving specific milestones first. With those successes in place, they can now begin exploring the development of a new TNA game.
“It’s certainly in our goals list, and I think that will hopefully launch us. In terms of the game, we didn’t set that as a priority in these first six months since I’ve been here, but it’s now been added to the list. We had to focus on building and creating the kind of things we did with Slammiversary. Like everything in an organization, if you try to do too many things, you don’t get anything done. So we concentrated on some successes first. Now, coming out of that success, we can put the TNA game on the docket and start looking at where we go with it for sure.”
Back in 2008, TNA released their first-ever video game on modern consoles as well as previous generations. While it did not exactly set the world on fire, the game’s robust gameplay certainly made for a good time for many fans.
We will have to wait and see when TNA will end up making their second video game, as it is likely that it will get a better reception than the first one. Considering the fact that Carlos Silva confirmed that making a game is now one of TNA’s goals, fans are excited to see when a game will be announced in the future.
Would you like the new TNA game to build on the style of the 2008 release, or should it go for a completely new direction? Sound off in the comments.
