Carlos Silva isn’t shying away from the conversation about where TNA stands in the wrestling world.
In a new interview with Ariel Helwani, the TNA President laid out his thoughts on the company’s position—and his belief that they’re climbing fast. Toward the end of their July 9 interview, Helwani addressed the elephant in the room: WWE is the global leader, but with TNA’s long history and new momentum, is reclaiming the No. 2 spot on the radar? Silva didn’t hesitate to share his outlook.
“Look, the motivation’s to get better every day and land where we are and be TNA. Like I said, we’re one of the major leagues.”
While he didn’t throw direct shots at AEW, Silva believes TNA’s recent progress speaks for itself.
“We’ve got a great partner in WWE, and I think we keep getting bigger. Every three months, I think—in the last six months—we’ve gotten bigger every 30 days.”
He emphasized that he’s focused on measurable short-term progress instead of vague long-term hopes.
“And I’m a really big sort of ‘What do you deliver in 30, 60, and 90 days?’ It’s how you set your short-term goals. You can’t just be thinking three years out. You’ve got to think about that, but you’ve got to really grind it out every single day.”
Silva insisted there’s no magic bullet to climb the ranks—just consistent hard work across the board.
“There’s no one thing that makes you win—it’s a little of everything.”
And when it comes to outside validation, Silva welcomes it—but he’s not desperate for it.
“And yeah—look, I want TNA to continue to be big and strong. And if I come on your show in six months and you want to tell me that we’re the number two promotion, I’m going to say, ‘Yeah, I think you’re right.’”
TNA’s quest for renewed prominence is clearly underway, with Silva laser-focused on steady growth. Whether that’s enough to push AEW out of the No. 2 spot remains to be seen—but Silva’s betting on momentum over noise.
