Carlito’s time in WWE is once again coming to an end.
According to a new report from PWInsider.com, the veteran star will be leaving the company after his current contract expires. Much like R-Truth’s situation, Carlito’s deal will not be renewed.
The 46-year-old star, known for his trademark attitude and signature apple spit, quietly wrapped up his most recent WWE in-ring appearance during WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas, competing in the 2025 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That would turn out to be his last match for the company.
Carlito, part of Puerto Rico’s legendary Colón wrestling family, was originally signed by WWE back in 2003. He rose through the ranks with impressive runs as Intercontinental and United States Champion and even captured tag team gold alongside his brother Primo. After his release in 2010, he returned to the indies, remaining active in the scene.
He resurfaced in WWE during the 2021 Royal Rumble but didn’t stick around—until 2023, when a massive reaction during WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico sparked his official return. That pop led to a full-time deal, where he was slotted onto the Raw roster and eventually added to The Judgment Day stable. While he had regular TV appearances, he rarely competed inside the ring, with his last WWE match now months behind him.
Carlito isn’t waiting on WWE to make his next move. Just this week, he wrestled for WWC in Puerto Rico, defeating Ray Gonzalez to become the Puerto Rican Champion. For a performer who’s always kept his options open, this may be just the beginning of another independent run.
Carlito walked into WWE decades ago as the cool guy with an apple and something to prove. Now, years later, he’s exiting on his own terms—with gold around his waist and a legacy rooted in both WWE history and Puerto Rican pride.
