Carlito Says WWE’s Lack of Loyalty Made Him Feel Like a “Beaten Housewife”

Carlito is no longer part of the WWE family after he parted ways earlier this year. Since then, fans have been wondering if he’ll join AEW at some point and now he’s addressed the same.

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer asked Carlito if he was interested in working for AEW or another promotion, or if he preferred to stick with the independent circuit since he had always expressed loyalty to WWE.

Carlito explained that his perspective has changed. He said that loyalty should go both ways, but he felt WWE was not loyal to him and he compared himself to a beaten housewife.

Because of that, he is now open to any opportunity and no longer feels tied to WWE. He also compared it to leaving a one-sided relationship; if the other side doesn’t care, it’s time to move on.

“Yeah, I mean—but now, at this point, I’m like a beaten housewife. Loyalty goes two ways. They weren’t loyal to me, and at this point I’m open to everything. I wanted it to be like that, but if they don’t love you back, you’ve gotta get out of the relationship, you know what I mean?”

Carlito’s next move could define the next phase of his career, whether he joins AEW or another big promotion, or if he keeps making an impact on the independent circuit. What’s clear is that he isn’t waiting for WWE anymore and fans completely understand why he feels that way now.
