Carlito’s latest WWE run didn’t end with a big farewell—or even a conversation. According to the veteran star, his exit from the company was marked by silence, confusion, and a last-minute text that told him not to bother showing up.

Speaking on D-Von Dudley’s podcast on July 15, 2025, Carlito opened up about how his contract quietly ran out without anyone from WWE reaching out. He said the company never made it official with him until it was basically over, leaving him frustrated—not bitter, but disappointed.

“The contract ended and they decided not to renew. And yeah, it was like two weeks out and I never went to them, they never came to me. And so yeah, they come like two weeks [before], they [said], ‘You don’t have to come to Raw or whatever.’ I’m like, bro, like at least—I’ll just—you know I’m a professional. I don’t like that. Like, you know, bro, I’m a professional. I’ll come in, I don’t care. I’m not gonna not come in or whatever. I know it’s a live show, so you want, you know, I don’t go AWOL or anything. But I’m a professional. Treat me like a professional. Don’t treat me like a mark or something. You know, I’ll do my job and that’s whatever.”

Carlito emphasized that he wasn’t asking for special treatment—just basic respect for the work he put in. He showed up on time, did what was asked, and took pride in being a reliable part of WWE’s roster. Yet in the end, he felt like he didn’t even matter enough for a proper goodbye.

Earlier this summer, Carlito also shared similar feelings during an appearance on Busted Open Radio, where he said he wished the company had given more closure—not just for him, but for others like R-Truth who had just returned to TV. He didn’t want a big spotlight—just a meaningful wrap-up to the Judgment Day storyline he’d been involved in.

Carlito may not have been WWE’s top guy, but he was loyal—and his exit left more questions than answers. It’s another example of how even veteran performers can be left in the dark when contracts quietly expire.
