Carlito has been on a roll since his WWE return back in 2023 and his current run with The Judgment Day has definitely elevated him in a big way. However, he hasn’t competed in the ring for a long time now and Carlito has explained the reason for his in-ring absence.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Carlito talked about his future in professional wrestling. The former United States Champion believes he has a few more years left but doesn’t see himself wrestling into his 50s.
Carlito also mentioned dealing with injuries, which have been easier to manage since he hasn’t been wrestling weekly. While he remains physically involved in segments, his last match was a few months ago.
“For a little bit, yeah I can continue wrestling. I still feel like I have a little bit left in the tank. I think I got a few more years in me. Not many, but a few. Wrestling into my 50s? Probably not gonna happen. No. Probably not. Mentally, I think. But my body’s probably not going to take it.
Not having to wrestle every week has helped me out a lot. I’ve been dealing with some injuries so not bumping has helped. But, yeah, like I said, there’s still a little bit left in the tank.“
Carlito’s last match saw him competing with The Judgment Day and losing to Braun Strowman and LWO during a dark match after the November 15th edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Carlito remains an active member of The Judgment Day, and it’s only a matter of time before he returns to in-ring competition. Whether he wrestles in major matches or takes on more of a supportive role, he continues to bring value to the faction.
