Carlito is officially back on the market. The former WWE United States and Intercontinental Champion revealed on Instagram that his time with WWE has come to an end, as the company opted not to renew his contract.

In a short video clip posted to his account, Carlito made it crystal clear that he’s free to sign anywhere and ready for what’s next.

“Back in business!! #fullyavailable #nocontract #libre #ready #noworries”

Carlito’s most recent run with WWE began in 2023 after a surprise return at Backlash: Puerto Rico that earned a huge reaction from the crowd. WWE capitalized on the moment by re-signing him and placing him into the Latino World Order (LWO) storyline on SmackDown. But after the LWO began falling apart, his TV time started drying up—and eventually stopped altogether.

This now marks the end of his second WWE stint. His first run, which kicked off in 2004, was iconic in its own right. He made an immediate impact by defeating John Cena for the U.S. Title in his debut match. Then, in another debut, he won the Intercontinental Championship on his first night on Raw and eventually held the tag titles with his brother Primo. That run ended in 2010.

Now, Carlito is free again—and not holding back about it. The big question now is where he shows up next. Could he land in AEW? Return to Puerto Rico’s wrestling scene? Or show up at one of the many major indies snapping up talent?
