Carlito isn’t looking to hang up his boots and disappear—he’s already thinking about his next chapter in wrestling.

During a recent episode of the Refin’ It Up podcast, the former WWE veteran got honest about his long-term vision in the business. At 46 years old, and with 25 years of experience under his belt, Carlito has no plans to leave wrestling completely. In fact, he’s eyeing roles that keep him on camera and close to the action. When asked about what’s next after his in-ring career, Carlito revealed:

“I don’t know or maybe like a Spanish commentator. I was thinking stuff like that or a manager. Yeah, so something along the — I’d like to definitely stay in the business somehow. But we’ll see.”

He also pointed out a missed opportunity he still doesn’t understand—why WWE never tapped him as a mouthpiece for Spanish-speaking talent.

“Especially when they’re bringing in all these talents, Spanish-speaking talents that can’t talk. Why wouldn’t anybody bring me in to be their mouthpiece? I never understood that. Why would people (not) think of me? Plus, I can be a manager that can go too, you know? Get in the ring too or if you need the manager to get beat up or something.”

Carlito believes that promo skills are crucial in wrestling—and he thinks his ability to talk and connect could’ve helped younger talent break through.

“I always thought, I can get these kids way, way… because the thing is, you gotta talk in this business. You gotta have a connection. So if you have someone to be the heater for ‘em, I mean, it just made perfect sense to me. Or maybe I’m being arrogant, I think I’m better than I am.”

Whether it’s behind a desk or at ringside hyping up the next generation, Carlito clearly sees value in staying close to the WWE product. And based on his track record, he might just be right.
