Fans have been wondering where Candice LeRae has been—and now they have their answer.
After over a month off WWE television, LeRae returned in shocking fashion during the May 23, 2025 episode of SmackDown, helping Tommaso Ciampa pick up a controversial win over TNA’s Chris Sabin.
In a hard-fought match that saw Ciampa and Sabin go back and forth, things took a dramatic turn late in the contest. Sabin had just hit a tornado DDT and climbed the ropes looking to finish Ciampa off. That’s when LeRae made her surprise return. Out of nowhere, she appeared at ringside and yanked Sabin throat-first onto the top rope, giving Ciampa the perfect opening.
Ciampa, ever the opportunist, sprinted in with a running knee strike to the head and scored the three-count.
LeRae hadn’t been seen since April 11 when she lost the WWE Women’s Speed Title to Sol Ruca in under five minutes. Her absence left fans wondering about her future, but tonight’s interference shows she’s not done yet—and she may now be in Ciampa and Gargano’s corner going forward.
The assist also raises serious questions about her direction. Is this a full-blown heel turn? Is she aligning with #DIY officially? And more importantly, what does this mean for Chris Sabin, who was closing in on a win before the interference?
Candice LeRae is back, and she’s already making an impact—whether fans like it or not.
