The controversial line from CM Punk aimed at Roman Reigns on WWE Raw is still getting strong reactions — and now a veteran voice in the business is weighing in.

During the closing segment of Raw, Punk referenced Reigns’ late father, Sika, claiming that at WrestleMania 42 he would bury Reigns next to him. The moment immediately sparked backlash and debate among fans and members of the Anoa’i wrestling family.

Now Bully Ray has shared his take on the line during an episode of his Busted Open podcast — and he believes the moment didn’t fit the rest of the promo. Ray explained that the segment between Punk and Reigns was working well until the final line shifted the tone.

“The last line for me felt very forced. Maybe I'll take back the word forced, it felt like it didn't belong. It didn't match the rest of the verbiage of the promo.”

He also questioned the logic behind the line itself and how it landed within the context of the feud.

“I'm going to bury you next to your father. Are we to believe that CM Punk is going to kill Roman Reigns?”

Ray continued by reiterating that the moment stood out for the wrong reasons, saying it simply didn’t match the substance or language used throughout the rest of the promo exchange.

The line has already stirred real-world reactions, including criticism from members of the Anoa’i family, and it has pushed the rivalry between Punk and Reigns into much more personal territory heading toward WrestleMania 42.

Do you think CM Punk’s line crossed the line, or was it just part of pushing a WrestleMania rivalry to the next level? Let us know what you think.
