Britt Baker’s extended absence from AEW programming is no longer just a mystery—it’s now a growing source of frustration among fans and wrestling veterans alike.
On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray took direct aim at AEW for keeping Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. off television for over a year, despite her star power and apparent health. The former AEW Women’s World Champion last competed in November 2024, and while she remains under contract through 2026, there are still reportedly no creative plans for her return. Bully Ray didn’t hold back, questioning whether AEW’s decision could be harming Baker’s long-term career.
“Has Britt Baker been so out of sight and out of mind that her wrestling career could be in jeopardy?” he asked, raising concerns about momentum loss during a critical stage of her run.
He went further, slamming AEW’s creative direction and making it clear that, unless Baker is seriously injured, there’s no excuse for her ongoing absence.
“There’s no reason why Britt Baker should not be on my television… there is zero good reason why that girl should not be involved in certain storylines right now,” Bully stated.
His comments echo a rising chorus of criticism across social media and fan communities, where many have argued that AEW’s women’s division is starving for proven talent like Baker, especially with stars like Jade Cargill now competing in WWE.
This sharp rebuke comes just days after reports surfaced that there have been no internal discussions about a Britt Baker return, despite her being medically cleared and under contract.
At this point, the bigger question may no longer be when Baker comes back—but why AEW hasn’t used her at all.
