WWE’s new reality competition series LFG (Legends & Future Greats) made its debut recently and fans are already invested in what the show has to offer. However, Bully Ray already managed to cause some drama after getting into a heated exchange with a WWE NXT prospect and now a former WWE writer has claimed that Bully Ray is simply trying to land a full-time job in WWE.

While speaking on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Vince Russo criticized WWE LFG, claiming some legends will use it to get a job in WWE—specifically Bully Ray. He compared the show to Tough Enough, which featured active wrestlers, while LFG relies on retired stars who might overshadow aspiring talent.

Russo believes this doesn’t apply to The Undertaker, Mickie James, or Booker T, but he accused Bubba Ray of trying to land a full-time job and with WWE using the show to steal the spotlight from the talent. He warned that if the focus changes to the legends, LFG might not be as interesting.

“The dangerous thing here is that when they were doing Tough Enough, they were doing it with active wrestlers. Al Snow was an active wrestler. They were using active wrestlers. Bro, you’re now using former WWE wrestlers who are no longer in the spotlight. It’s like, you know what I’m talking about, they’re going to make it about them because they’re looking for that full-time spot in WWE. They’re going to make it about them, and that’s really going to take the spotlight off the potential wrestlers.

That’s what I think, anyway. That’s why I think there’s a danger in doing it with retired guys, with the exception of ‘Taker and Mickie James and Booker T, he’s already there. You and I both know Bully would give his right you-know-what to get a full-time job there. He is going to seize this spotlight to steal the show, and if that’s what it turns into, I don’t know if it’s going to be interesting.”

With Bully Ray already making headlines for creating drama, some fans also worry that WWE LFG might focus more on the legends rather than the rising stars. If that happens, the show could lose its original purpose. Therefore, only time will tell if Vince Russo’s claim turns out to be true.
