Bubba the Love Sponge is catching serious heat—even after being right. Following Hulk Hogan’s death, the outspoken radio host used the July 25, 2025 episode of The Bubba the Love Sponge Show to respond to the backlash he’s received for publicly reporting on Hogan’s declining health in the weeks leading up to his passing.
Despite being proven correct, Bubba says he’s still being vilified by fans and members of Hogan’s inner circle for “telling the truth”—a truth many tried to bury.
“I cried yesterday several different times talking to several different people… Unfortunately, I don’t know if I’m now officially the bad guy forever, but I would hope that people—maybe I’m not trying to pat myself on the back—but just realize I was trying to give the public correct information about a very dire situation that was being completely lied to.”
Bubba made it clear that while fans are now acknowledging he was right all along, the validation comes with no satisfaction.
“I don’t want to be the guy—well, I am—I can’t take away from what I’ve already said and what I already correctly predicted, but you know, I am officially the guy that was the only one telling the truth about Hulk Hogan’s physical condition. And that has caused some people to say, ‘You know what? Bubba was right.’ Now, I wish to God I wasn’t right, because being right means we have, you know, a dead Hulk Hogan.”
He also called out several people close to Hogan—many of whom publicly dismissed Bubba’s health updates and labeled him a liar.
“I mean, everybody in the business—Brian Blair, Jimmy Hart, Eric Bischoff, Missy Beefcake, his wife—you know, they all individually called me out by name. ‘Bubba the Love Sponge is just a…’ you know, just everything.”
For weeks, Bubba had reported that Hogan’s health was far worse than people believed. Those updates were repeatedly denied or downplayed by close friends and family—until Hogan’s passing proved otherwise.
Now, even as people begin to admit he was right, Bubba says the damage to his reputation has already been done.
