Bryan Danielson’s biggest love his pro wrestling, so it was hard for him to accept his initial retirement in the 2010s. That’s why it’s not really surprising that Danielson tried to get fired by saying wild things on Talking Smack since WWE didn’t let him wrestle.

While speaking on Down Under the Ring, Bryan Danielson revealed that he once tried to get fired by saying reckless things on Talking Smack. He explained that after being forced to retire, he believed he could eventually return to wrestling, but WWE wouldn’t allow it for a long time. Out of frustration, he thought that acting out might lead to his release.

“I was trying to get fired by saying dumb stuff on Talking Smack. It was a different situation because I had been forced to retire. I thought I could come back to wrestling, but for a long time they wouldn’t let me. So I figured, ‘Maybe if I do this, I’ll get fired.’”

Of course, this was during the time that Danielson was forced to retire from in-ring competition due to concussions, but he was ultimately cleared to compete again back in 2018.
