Bryan Danielson isn’t done fighting—but this time, it’s not in the ring. During his special panel at Starrcast, Danielson revealed that WWE reached out and told him to stop doing his signature “Yes!” chants.

According to Danielson, the message from WWE came recently and directly asked him to cut out the chant that helped launch his career into the stratosphere. While Danielson had previously tried to trademark the chant himself, that attempt was abandoned. WWE swooped in shortly after and filed two separate trademark applications for “YES YES YES” in 2024.

Now that Danielson is active behind the scenes in both AEW and Ring of Honor, WWE’s sudden legal reminder feels like more than just business—it’s a move that could shift how fans interact with him moving forward.

Whether fans will ever hear the “Yes!” chant again during one of Danielson’s entrances if he makes any appearances in the near future remains unclear, but this situation is a firm reminder that not everything legendary is owned by the performer who made it famous.
