Hulk Hogan’s private funeral in Largo, Florida was meant to be a solemn goodbye to one of wrestling’s most iconic figures — but according to former WWE star B. Brian Blair, things took a sharp turn when Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake’s wife, Missy, allegedly hurled a vulgar insult at Linda Hogan during the service.
Speaking to WrestleBinge, Blair said he was standing next to Linda when he heard the shocking exchange unfold.
“Yes. Yes, I did [talk to Linda]. As a matter of fact, if you want to really hear the real scuttlebutt, of course, I know you do. And we’ll break it right here. I was standing next to Linda and I hear the C word and I look up and it’s Brutus’s wife, Missy. Yeah. And Linda called the security cuz she called Linda that and then denied it and I heard it. So they got thrown out.”
Missy reportedly denied saying it, but Blair stuck to his version of events. Security was called, and she was removed from the church. According to Blair, Brutus Beefcake was also there — something he found surprising given the personal history between Hogan and Beefcake.
“Was Brutus there as well? Yes. Yes. Which is hard to believe after he trashed Terry so much, you know? I can’t believe that he would come there after trashing him. I mean, they were not on speaking terms at all.”
The incident briefly derailed what had otherwise been a quiet and emotional tribute at Indian Rocks Baptist Church. Hogan’s casket was carried by pallbearers wearing yellow boutonnières — a symbolic nod to his iconic ring gear. Kid Rock also paid tribute by wearing a yellow feather in his hat.
The guest list featured major figures from Hogan’s storied past, including Vince McMahon, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Sting, Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, Jimmy Hart, Eric Bischoff, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Ted DiBiase, Dean Malenko, Paul Wight, and Brutus Beefcake himself.
Notably absent was Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, who later revealed she honored her father in her own way — by taking her children to his favorite beach. She shared a childhood photo and wrote that she chose to celebrate his life “while we have our feet in the same saltwater you loved.”
Hulk Hogan died on July 24 at age 71 from a heart attack. A medical report later revealed he had also been privately battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The family has confirmed he will be cremated.
The altercation between Missy and Linda Hogan might’ve been brief, but it added an unexpected layer of real-life tension to a funeral meant to celebrate a legend’s life — a reminder that some wrestling grudges don’t stop when the cameras do.
