The Undertaker’s legendary WrestleMania streak ending at the hands of Brock Lesnar remains one of the most polarizing moments in WWE history—and Bruce Prichard just made it clear where he stands: he never wanted it to happen.
Appearing on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, Prichard revealed that he was so upset by the streak ending at WrestleMania 30, he texted Vince McMahon the very next day—even though he wasn’t working for WWE at the time.
“I wish you wouldn’t have done that, but you have your reasons.”
Prichard explained he waited until the following day to send the message because he had heard Taker had been hospitalized and wanted to make sure he was okay first. He also made it clear that while he understood the logic behind choosing Brock Lesnar—someone believable enough to end the streak—he never liked the decision.
“It was like watching a baby grow,” Prichard said, describing how closely he’d followed the streak’s development. “I thought it should’ve stayed pure forever.”
Prichard joked the streak should’ve ended with Giant Gonzalez at WrestleMania IX, which led to Undertaker laughing and admitting the match was so physically bad, it “almost ended” the streak—but not by design.
The segment offered a rare emotional insight into how even WWE insiders had a tough time letting go of the mystique that surrounded the streak—and how deeply it resonated with those who helped build it.
