Brooke Hogan is pulling back the curtain on a deeply personal moment with her father, Hulk Hogan — and it left her with more heartbreak than celebration. As she recalled planning her wedding with her then-fiancé Steve, Brooke said she made one heartfelt request: for her father to walk her down the aisle. But the WWE legend flat-out refused.
In an emotional recollection shared on Bubba the Love Sponge’s YouTube channel, Brooke described the scene inside Hulk’s Eldorado house, where she hoped to create a memory that would last a lifetime. Instead, it became a moment that stung deeply.
“Yes, I was with Steve in his living room at the Eldorado house and I said, ‘Daddy…’ — we were at the Eldorado house, we were sitting in the living room. My dad knew we were going to get married because Steve had to ask him.”
Brooke explained that Hogan’s reaction to the engagement wasn’t exactly warm, either.
“And what’s really bad is when Steve asked him, he said — his response was — ‘Just as long as you guys are good together, I’ll never do again.’”
Then came the moment that broke Brooke’s heart even further. When discussing their plans to have children, she asked her father if he’d do it all again — if he could go back in time and choose to have kids.
“And I asked my dad, I said, ‘Dad, for real, if you had to go back in time and have kids, would you do it?’ Because me and Steve were thinking about having kids. And he said, ‘No.’”
Trying not to take it personally, Brooke focused on the wedding. She told her dad it would be a very private affair in Orlando, no drama, no Linda Hogan, no media — just her and Steve. She asked one simple thing: for Hulk to walk her down the aisle.
“But I asked him. I said, ‘Hey, we’re not going to do a big thing. It’s just going to be me and Steve. You don’t have to run into Linda. Nobody has to be there. I said it’s going to be really, really private in Orlando. But the one person that I would love there, just because it’s tradition, would be you. I want you to walk me down the aisle.’”
But Hulk Hogan refused, using a line that Brooke said he stood by even when she pleaded.
“And he goes, ‘I don’t know, that’s not me. I don’t do weddings. I don’t do funerals anymore.’”
“I said, ‘Dad, even for me?’ And he goes, ‘Nope. You guys have fun. You got my blessing, but I’m not… you can’t get me to leave the beach.’ That was his thing — ‘You can’t get me to leave the beach.’”
That moment, Brooke said, represented a deeper truth about their relationship. It wasn’t just about a wedding—it was about feeling emotionally abandoned for years.
“I just don’t know what was ever real, you know? Because all of those things took place over a course of years. And I don’t know how, when doing those things to somebody, you look them in the face, pretend like nothing’s wrong… I just don’t even know how you could get away with those things and not be nervous that someone’s going to question you.”
It doesn’t get more heartbreaking than your own dad refusing to walk you down the aisle. Brooke Hogan laid it all out, revealing a side of Hulk Hogan that fans never saw behind the camera flashes and iconic promos. No matter how many times he dropped the leg in the ring, walking away from his daughter’s big day may be the one move fans never forgive.
