Bronson Reed was sidelined for several months due to an ankle injury last year. While he’s back in action now, it appears he is still dealing with long-lasting effects from his injury.

While speaking on the Raw Recap show, Bronson Reed admitted that his career was nearly derailed by the devastating injury when he broke his talus bone completely in half, one of the toughest injuries to recover from. He spent three months with his foot elevated, during which his leg atrophied, forcing him to relearn how to walk, jump, and run before making it back into the ring.

Reed explained that everyday activities like walking and running remain painful, but once he steps into the ring, the pain seems to disappear, something even doctors have taken note of. Despite still living with daily pain, he continues to push through.

Reed admitted that his right foot will never regain full mobility, with his new “100%” equating to only about 75% of what a normal foot can do. Even then, Reed has adapted, taping it up and continuing to compete at a high level, determined to keep moving forward.

“Yeah, it was a life-changing injury. I broke my talus bone completely in half — that’s a very hard injury to come back from. I had my foot up like this for three months. My leg atrophied, I had to learn to walk again on this right leg, learn to jump and run, and then get back in the ring. The crazy part about it is that in everyday life — walking around, running — it’s painful. But when I get in that ring, I forget it. For some reason, the doctors noticed that when I’m in the ring, I can do anything. I’m still in pain every day, but I’m working through it. My mobility in this right foot will never be 100%, and my new 100% is about 75% of normal mobility in a foot. But I get it done — that’s all that matters. I tape it up and beat people up.”

Bronson Reed’s dedication just goes to show that no amount of pain will ever stop him from doing what he really loves the most, and that’s all that matters to him in the end.
