Bronson Reed is finally addressing the injury that derailed one of the biggest rumored moments of his WWE career—a World Title showdown with Seth Rollins in his home country of Australia.
During his appearance on Unlikely, Reed opened up about the career detour that had fans wondering what could’ve been. The match with Rollins was never made official, but word backstage was that Reed was penciled in for a major title shot Down Under. That dream came crashing down after Reed suffered an untimely injury. When asked whether that moment still haunts him, Reed didn’t sugarcoat it, as he explained that in pro wrestling, no career path is ever straight or predictable:
“Yeah, of course. You always have those what-ifs.”
“I feel like our journey as WWE superstars in wrestling, like, things just happen so differently that you never know what's going to happen.”
At one point, he wasn’t even with WWE—wrestling back in Japan and trying to find his way back to the company. But that fire never went out:
“There was a point in time when I was gone from WWE and wrestling back in Japan, and it was my goal to get back here—and it happened.”
Reed then dropped confirmation that the Rollins match was real and would’ve gone down in front of his home crowd. But in a rare case of wrestling karma actually paying off, Reed got a shot at redemption:
“Of course me vs. Seth Rollins was going to be something big. It was going to be in Australia for the championship, and it would have been something special for sure.”
“But then I think things sort of happened for a reason. And then a whole year later, I returned to Australia and went against Roman Reigns and beat Roman Reigns in my home country. So things worked out in the end.”
What started as a crushing “what if” turned into a massive “what now?”—with Bronson Reed standing tall over Roman Reigns in the exact place he was meant to shine.
Do you think Reed vs. Rollins would’ve been a show-stealer? Or did WWE actually give us the better moment with Reigns? Drop your thoughts below and let us know which version of history you’d book.
