Bron Breakker’s WrestleMania 42 plans may have just taken a major hit.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Breakker recently underwent emergency hernia surgery — and the fallout could cost WWE one of its biggest matches of the year.

According to Meltzer, the originally planned WrestleMania showdown between Breakker and Seth Rollins is now in serious doubt.

“Bron Breakker underwent emergency surgery this past week due to a hernia. Nothing has been said about a timeline for his return and most of the details have been kept under wraps. But when we first heard about it, it was said that the WrestleMania match with Seth Rollins was in jeopardy and that match was meant to be the third biggest match of the weekend.”

That’s a massive shake-up. The Breakker vs Rollins bout was reportedly positioned as the third biggest match across the two-night WrestleMania 42 card in Las Vegas. With emergency surgery now confirmed and no official timetable for his return, WWE may be forced to scrap or completely rework those plans.

Earlier reports had already indicated that Breakker’s recovery could extend beyond WrestleMania, but this latest update puts even more weight on the idea that he won’t be cleared in time.

WrestleMania 42 is set for April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium, and several top matches are already locked in. If Breakker vs Rollins was indeed one of the weekend’s centerpiece attractions, WWE now faces a significant creative pivot with little room for error.
