Bron Breakker’s road to WrestleMania 42 took a sharp detour—but WWE isn’t ruling him out just yet.
Fightful Select reports that despite undergoing surgery for a hernia, WWE sources remain optimistic that Breakker could still be cleared in time for the company’s biggest show of the year.
“We haven't heard an update on his status for WrestleMania, but sources in WWE are optimistic that Breakker can return in time.”
The injury was reportedly sustained during the February 2 episode of Raw, when Breakker flipped over the announcers’ table during a heated segment. He apparently kept pushing through the pain, earning backstage praise for not letting it derail the scene.
“Breakker was complimented by one source we spoke to for working through the pain on Raw.”
This latest update adds new context to what initially seemed like a standard storyline beat. According to PWInsider, Breakker was actually injured during his table-flipping outburst on the January 29 Raw, and just days later—by February 4—doctors confirmed he needed surgery. WWE immediately pulled him from all travel and creative plans.
“We are told that Breakker was hurt during last Monday's Raw when he flipped the table over.”
“We are also told that by Wednesday 2/4, it was determined he was going to require a surgery for a hernia.”
“Breakker is officially off the road while he recovers. We are told there is currently no timetable for his return at this moment.”
Breakker’s onscreen breakdown the night after the Royal Rumble is now being viewed in a different light. At the Rumble, he was jumped by a masked attacker—heavily implied to be Seth Rollins—before entering the match, and was eliminated shortly after. On Raw, he tore through furniture and clashed with officials before being removed from the arena by Adam Pearce.
At the time, there was no sign anything had gone wrong. But behind the scenes, the hernia had already thrown Breakker’s trajectory into question. Now things shifts to recovery—and timing. WrestleMania 42 is fast approaching, and WWE may be keeping a spot warm just in case their powerhouse can return to the ring.
Will Bron Breakker make it to WrestleMania 42, or will WWE be forced to change course? Should they save his return for a bigger surprise later in the year? Let us know what you think in the comments.
