Bron Breakker has quickly risen to the top of WWE’s Raw roster, stepping into a leadership role after Seth Rollins was sidelined with an injury — but according to him, this was always where things were headed.

The seeds for Breakker’s current run were planted the night after WrestleMania, when he and Rollins joined forces to attack Roman Reigns and CM Punk with Paul Heyman looking on. That alliance soon expanded with Bronson Reed, and together the group became a dominant force on Raw.

Everything changed after Rollins went down at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12. With their leader out, Breakker became the focal point of the faction, now set to team with Reed in a major tag match against Reigns and Jey Uso at SummerSlam Night One.

Speaking with Josh Martinez of Z100 ahead of the event, Breakker made it clear this push wasn’t a surprise — just accelerated by circumstance.

“I think me being in this role was always a plan, or always the vision for everything, but it’s just happened a bit sooner than we all anticipated, just because of Seth being gone. So, here we go.”

Whether or not Rollins’ injury was part of the plan, Breakker is now leading from the front — and SummerSlam will be his biggest test yet.
