Bron Breakker’s sudden disappearance from action now has a clear explanation—and it’s more serious than it first appeared.
Dave Meltzer reported in today’s Wrestling Observer Daily Update that Breakker recently underwent surgery for a serious hernia. As of now, there is no word on how long he will be sidelined. Meltzer summed it up bluntly.
“Bron Brekker had surgery for a serious hernia. No word on how long he’ll be out.”
That revelation adds new context to Breakker’s last appearances, which now look less like storyline chaos and more like WWE working around a legitimate medical issue.
Breakker was last physical during the Men’s Royal Rumble match, entering at number two. Before he could even reach the ring, he was ambushed by a masked attacker heavily implied to be Seth Rollins, who delivered a stomp before escaping through the crowd. Despite the attack, Breakker still made it to the ring, only to be eliminated by the number one entrant, Oba Femi.
The angle didn’t end there. The following night on Raw, Breakker appeared visibly enraged, tearing apart the ringside area and getting directly in the faces of the announcers. His outburst escalated to the point where Raw general manager Adam Pearce had no choice but to eject him from the building.
At the time, the sequence played as a loss of control. Now, with surgery confirmed, it reads more like WWE writing him off while dealing with a real injury behind the scenes.
The timing is especially notable given reports that Breakker was originally planned to win the Royal Rumble match. Those plans were changed due to WrestleMania card adjustments, resulting in Roman Reigns winning instead and selecting CM Punk as his opponent for WrestleMania 42.
With Breakker now recovering from surgery and no return date in sight, it’s clear this isn’t a short-term absence—and WWE’s plans had to shift fast. Ringside News will continue to keep you updated as more information on his injury status becomes available.
