Bron Breakker’s status has taken a major turn, and the latest update makes it clear his WrestleMania situation wasn’t about his health after all.

After weeks of uncertainty following his hernia surgery, Breakker has now been fully cleared to compete. That alone is a huge development, especially after many assumed his injury forced WWE to change major WrestleMania 42 plans.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the decision to move forward with Seth Rollins vs. Gunther at WrestleMania was not due to Breakker’s condition. Instead, it was a creative choice made to give Breakker and Rollins more time to properly build their story.

“The idea of Rollins vs. Breakker is very much alive, but they are wanting the proper television build time.”

That detail changes the narrative completely. Many fans believed Breakker’s injury was the reason WWE pivoted to Gunther stepping into the WrestleMania match, especially after Gunther returned on RAW at Madison Square Garden and attacked Rollins before pointing at the WrestleMania sign. Instead, the plan for Gunther appears to have been in motion for weeks, with the Rollins storyline involving Paul Heyman building toward that exact moment.

“The entire storyline the past few weeks with Rollins and Paul Heyman was always to build to Gunther choking Rollins out in Madison Square Garden.”

Breakker had been sidelined since suffering a serious hernia injury on the February 2 episode of RAW, and early expectations suggested he and Rollins would collide at WrestleMania 42. Now that he’s fully cleared, the matchup between Breakker and Rollins still appears to be in WWE’s long-term plans rather than something that was scrapped entirely.

Gunther ultimately filled the WrestleMania spot that had originally been discussed for Breakker, especially after Rey Mysterio suffered an injury that changed earlier plans. With WrestleMania 42 set for April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, WWE now appears locked into Rollins vs. Gunther — while keeping Breakker’s future feud with Rollins alive for later.

Now that Breakker has been medically cleared, the big question shifts to timing. Will WWE hold off and build the Rollins match properly, or could Breakker still find his way into a major role sooner than expected?

Do you think WWE made the right call saving Rollins vs. Breakker for later, or should they have pushed to make it happen at WrestleMania 42? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
