The IShowSpeed spear from the 2025 Royal Rumble is still making headlines—and now, Bron Breakker is finally telling the full story of how it all went down.
During a sit-down with The Undertaker, Michelle McCool on the Six Feet Under podcast, Breakker explained how the viral moment came together, and why Speed never really had a chance once the hit was coming. It all started with some good-natured trash talk from The Undertaker, who couldn’t help but poke fun at Speed for agreeing to take the hit.
“How much money did Speed owe you? Dude, you decleated him.”
Breakker laughed as he explained the setup, making it clear that everyone, including Speed, was on board with the spot—though not everyone had the same idea of what “bringing it” meant.
“Well, I mean, it was one of those… Hunter’s touched on this a few times too, you know, in interviews that he’s done since then, where, you know, we presented him with what was going on, right? Going in, and we’re like, listen, you know, he’s gonna bring it no matter… I mean, and he was. Okay, he was cool with it no matter how many fellas.”
Undertaker wasn’t buying it completely, though.
“I don’t think his ‘bring it’ and your ‘bring it’ were in the same stratosphere, but go ahead.”
Breakker admitted the producers were all over the segment, walking Speed through everything—including his entrance, which is where things started to go sideways.
“He’s got his producers with him, and he’s kind of walking through like his entrance when he comes in… the outline of his role. And they’re going, ‘Okay, when you do, you wanna do this backflip thing and then do the ‘sui’— I think it’s the sui, is that right? Celebration.’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, you can do whatever you need to get in. Just make sure you turn this way.’”
But Breakker could see trouble brewing, especially as Speed kept struggling with the timing of the turn.
“And I’m seeing him do the turn after the backflip a couple times, and they’re trying to tell him to do it at a certain cadence to help him out… He’s like, ‘Yeah, I got it, it’s easy, I can just turn.’ And I’m like, ‘Please dude, just be ready. Just turn. You don’t have to do the fancy turn to get back to me. If it’s too much, just turn this way.’”
Of course, Speed went for the flashy turn anyway—and that’s when Breakker dropped the hammer.
“That turn is gonna be an afterthought. He went around the world, and I hit him from the side because I just was…”
The Undertaker couldn’t contain his laughter as he remembered how hard the hit landed.
“I can’t tell you how many times we rewound that and just watched it. I felt bad, I was belly laughing so hard.”
Michelle McCool added that even she, someone who doesn’t usually react, jumped out of her seat.
“We were watching it first on TV, and everybody jumped up. Like, I don’t jump up, bro. I’m just saying.”
Undertaker backed her up, saying their whole family lost it watching Speed get leveled.
“He jumped up, I jumped up, our daughter jumped up… Everybody’s high-fiving each other. It was like you beat him in half so bad.”
Breakker casually brushed off the talk, saying it wasn’t even the hardest hit he’s ever delivered.
“That’s not the hardest I’ve hit somebody though.”
But The Undertaker wasn’t done piling on the jokes—and even suggested nobody else in WWE should be allowed to throw a spear after seeing Breakker’s version.
“No disrespect, but I mean, he’s a little light in the ass to be getting hit by somebody that hits like you do… They should take the spear away from everybody else. That should be his solely.”
Michelle McCool laughed and added one final jab.
“His head almost hit his feet.”
While WWE made it clear that the entire segment was discussed and approved ahead of time, Breakker’s own comments show he knew Speed was struggling with his entrance—and still went full force with the spear. Some fans have called it stiff, others say it made for great TV. Either way, it’s a moment nobody’s forgetting anytime soon.
