Brody King doesn’t care what people assume—he’s calling out stereotypes and standing by his beliefs.

During the July 20 episode of Hey! (EW) with RJ City, the AEW star was confronted head-on with a joke about how his tattooed, intimidating appearance might lead people to assume he holds racist views. Instead of brushing it off, Brody took the opportunity to flip the script. RJ City kicked off the exchange by sarcastically questioning King’s image:

“Is it weird looking like you’re racist? I feel like it’s very surprising when you do things, you know, like donate $27,000 to Mexican charities.”

Brody didn’t shy away from the moment and gave a sharp, pointed answer:

“I mean, maybe that’s part of it. Yeah. Yeah. I think so. Separation is key.”

The interview also brought up the time King wore an “Abolish ICE” shirt at Arena Mexico, directly aligning himself with immigrant families impacted by harsh deportation policies. That was followed by him donating all proceeds from a limited-edition shirt to support families affected by ICE raids.

When RJ sarcastically accused Brody of “making other celebrities look bad” by being outspoken, King took a final jab at the culture around buzzwords:

“I will apologize for you using the word ‘woke’ because that word is ridiculous.”

Brody King continues to defy public perception, proving that inked-up muscle and punk attitude don’t define your values.
