Despite weeks of rumors swirling about Britt Baker’s AEW future, it turns out the conversation might be a whole lot of noise with no real exit plan in sight.
On the latest Fightful Report podcast, Sean Ross Sapp shut down the speculation, revealing that Baker isn’t going anywhere anytime soon—and her current contract guarantees that.
Sapp addressed all the online chatter claiming Baker might be on her way out, calling it completely inaccurate. According to him, not only is Baker still under AEW contract, but injury time could actually extend that deal well beyond next year.
“There’s some confusion about Britt Baker’s status this week. She is not on her way out of AEW. She is not actively looking to leave AEW.”
Sapp explained that while there were creative conversations about a major match for Baker at Double or Nothing, it’s unclear whether those talks ever reached her directly.
“There had been some creative discussions about her possibly having a big Double or Nothing match. I don’t know that that creative ever actually made it to her. Don’t know any details on why that is. I believe she’s been willing to come back to the company and do some work—it just hasn’t been in the cards of late.”
As for when fans might actually see Baker back on AEW programming, Sapp speculated All In Texas could be the moment.
“Hoping that we’ll see her at the All In Casino Gauntlet match. I think that would make a lot of sense.”
But regardless of when Baker shows up, one thing is clear—her contract is still locked in.
“But right now, she has over a year left on her AEW contract, and with injury time, that could extend into 2027.”
While AEW sources remain split on Baker’s long-term future with the company, the updated contract details tell the real story—don’t expect the Doctor to walk away from AEW just yet.
