Dave Meltzer’s latest report about Britt Baker removing AEW from her social media bio just got shot down—because Ringside News has discovered the change isn’t new at all.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer seemingly indicated that Britt Baker removed AEW from her Instagram profile recently, interpreting it as a potential sign that AEW no longer plans to use her. He tied the alleged change to her absence from AEW Dynamite in Pittsburgh, where many fans expected her to make a return.
“Baker has removed AEW from her social media profile. When she wasn’t at the Pittsburgh show I took that as she’s not going to be used again.”
But Ringside News has confirmed that Baker actually made that change months ago. A Reddit post dated seven months prior clearly shows her Instagram bio already missing any mention of AEW—long before Meltzer’s report.
The screenshot from March shows her listing herself as a “Professional Wrestler, Dentist, Actor, Yinzer” with no AEW affiliation in sight. That means this wasn’t a sudden decision, and definitely not something that just happened this week.
Britt Baker is still under AEW contract, reportedly through at least 2027 depending on injury time, and has been willing and ready to return. But for now, AEW hasn’t pulled the trigger on her comeback—and Meltzer’s timeline appears to have missed the mark.
