Britt Baker’s absence from AEW television continues to spark questions, especially after she didn’t appear during AEW Dynamite in her hometown of Pittsburgh last week. Many fans believed this would mark her long-awaited return, but she never showed—leaving her status with the company in question.

During a recent Q&A on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp provided an update that sheds new light on her situation. He confirmed that Baker is still under contract with AEW, but explained that the length of her deal could be even longer than most fans realize.

“Her contract goes at least a year. At least a year. And then they could add injury time to it, assuming it’s like every other deal. That would take her well into 2027.”

Sapp added that Baker is not sitting out by choice. She has been ready and willing to return but AEW has yet to bring her back.

“From what I understand, she’s been willing to come back. She’s healthy… All that. She had worked through injuries for years, then had to take time off, had some really terrible stuff happen to her and didn’t get the appropriate reps in. I do think we’ll see her again… They just didn’t do it.”

Britt Baker’s long absence from AEW programming, combined with the possibility of injury time being tacked onto her contract, could mean fans won’t see her leave AEW any time soon—even if she isn’t on television.
