Britt Baker’s absence from AEW programming has been one of the biggest questions hanging over the women’s division, and now there’s a new update that suggests her future with the company could be in serious doubt.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Baker recently removed AEW from her social media profile. For Meltzer, this sign was telling — especially since she didn’t appear during AEW Dynamite in her hometown of Pittsburgh last week, a night many fans assumed would mark her big return.

“Baker has removed AEW from her social media profile. When she wasn’t at the Pittsburgh show I took that as she’s not going to be used again. Whether it was they thought she was headed to WWE (she’d get a huge pop at first but in other ways it may be difficult long-term because of the style difference).”

Earlier last month, it was confirmed that Baker is still under AEW contract, with a deal that could run into 2027 depending on how injury time is handled. He also noted that Baker has been willing and ready to return, but the company has chosen not to bring her back yet.

Now, with her social media change and Meltzer’s report, speculation is heating up about whether AEW has decided to quietly move on from using her altogether. Some believe a WWE run could be in her future, while others feel the style clash might prevent her from thriving there.

Baker, once one of AEW’s cornerstones and the face of the women’s division, is now on the sidelines with her next move up in the air.
