After four years away from the ring, Brie Bella made her shocking return during the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble—but it wasn’t just about nostalgia. In a new interview on Good Morning America, Brie opened up about the real reason she decided to step back into WWE—and reunite with her sister Nikki Bella.
“I just feel like this is the perfect time for The Bella Twins,” Brie said during the Tuesday appearance. “The women’s division is on fire, it’s the best I’ve ever seen it. And I’m just like, I can’t sit at home anymore and be watching like a fan. I’m like, I gotta get in.”
That spark reignited at the Royal Rumble, where Brie returned to the ring for the first time since 2022. With Nikki already back for a solo run, the timing was right for a full-on Bella Twins reunion—and this time, they’re focused on something they never got the chance to claim: the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
The twins appeared on Monday Night RAW and officially entered the tag team title scene, sending a direct message to current champions Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Nikki backed up their intent during the GMA segment:
“Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY should watch their back… Brie and I, we’re the OG tag team. We never had that opportunity to go for the tag titles, and we want them.”
Despite being WWE Hall of Famers, the Bellas said their comeback is driven by unfinished business—not retirement plans. In fact, they teased their retirement could be “years down the road.”
For Brie, the return wasn’t just a storyline—it was personal. It was about passion, timing, and refusing to sit on the sidelines.
