Brian Knobbs’ latest health battle has brought support from wrestling legend Mick Foley — but the fundraiser tied to it is also drawing some skepticism.
Foley took to his Instagram Story on March 5, 2026 to boost a GoFundMe campaign aimed at helping the former WWE Tag Team Champion cover medical bills as he continues dealing with infections and repeated hospital stays. The WWE Hall of Famer made it clear he believes the wrestling community should step up when one of its own is struggling.
“In our dysfunctional, yet loving extended professional wrestling family, I believe we have to look out for each other, especially when one of us is going through a difficult time. Brian is going through that type of time now and can use a little help from all of us.”
Foley isn’t just sharing the link — he’s also putting his own memorabilia on the line to help raise money. The hardcore legend said he’ll be auctioning shirts at his upcoming live shows this month. He urged fans attending those shows to bid and encouraged everyone else to check out the fundraiser online.
“I’m going to be doing my shirt off my back auction, and all five of my upcoming #40YearsOfFoley shows in March – #NewOrleans #Lafayette #ColumbusOH (two shows in Columbus) and #DundeeIL. If you’re at one of these events, please consider placing a bid. For everyone else, please take a look at the GoFundMe site that has been set up for Brian.”
So far the campaign has pulled in over $39,000 toward its $50,000 goal. However, Knobbs has launched multiple GoFundMe campaigns over the years — and at this point, new fundraisers appear fairly regularly. Because of that pattern, some fans online have started questioning the frequency of the requests, with many saying the repeated campaigns are beginning to feel unusual.
Supporters, meanwhile, argue that Knobbs’ health problems have been ongoing for years and that medical costs can pile up fast — especially for retired wrestlers without steady income. Either way, Foley clearly believes the situation is serious enough to step in and help push the fundraiser himself.
Now it leads to a big question: is this a case of the wrestling community rallying around one of its own — or are the constant GoFundMe campaigns starting to raise legitimate questions? Time will tell.
