Brian Cage has officially gone under the knife for his third knee surgery—and this one’s hitting a lot harder than the last.

The AEW star took to Instagram from his hospital bed and shared video updates right after waking up from surgery. While he’s no stranger to pain, Cage didn’t sugarcoat how brutal this one feels compared to his earlier operations.

“Alright, so I’ve been fully awake for a little bit. I was amazed at how much more manageable the first surgery was. I don’t know if it’s because of the quad surgery I had before, but man, this one — I feel it. I feel this MFer really bad. I gotta be honest, I know we’re just out of surgery, but I’m already getting the flashbacks and I’m so over this.”

This marks Cage’s third surgery this year—and the emotional and physical toll is clearly adding up. He admitted the routine parts of recovery, like getting up to use the bathroom, already feel daunting.

“Being in a limp, the pain, all of it — third time this year — it’s just… when I woke up to pee and went back to bed, I was like, ugh, this is gonna be brutal for the next couple of weeks. This sucks.”

Despite the setbacks, Cage has never stayed down for long. But his latest update gives fans a rare glimpse into just how exhausting and real the recovery process is for elite-level wrestlers.

Brian Cage hasn’t revealed when he’ll return to the ring—but one thing’s clear: The Machine is in a fight that goes beyond the ropes.
