Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman—real name Adam Scherr—has been released from the hospital following a serious health scare that required emergency surgery on his knee. The powerhouse wrestler turned TV host took to social media on Friday to confirm the good news, sharing relief and gratitude with fans who had been anxiously awaiting an update.

“Discharged!!! Lots of antibiotics to take now and gotta take it easy for a few more days before back in the gym,” Strowman wrote. “But I can’t wait to get home and see my pups!!! Again thank you for all the prayers and well wishes from around the world. I’m so blessed to have the support and love from so many. All Glory to God for his mercy and love.”

Strowman revealed earlier in the week that what started as a minor issue quickly escalated into a dangerous infection in the bursa around his patella—a condition that caused extreme pain and swelling. Doctors were forced to perform an emergency procedure to drain the fluid and remove the infected bursa entirely.

In a previous post from the hospital, Strowman gave a raw look into the situation:

“I had an infection in my bursa around my patella in my knee, and it got out of control. So they went in this morning. They removed the bursa from my knee, drained a bunch of fluid out of it, and then left the wound open to continue to drain… the pain is finally starting to subside some. It doesn’t feel like my kneecap is going to explode off anymore.”

The health scare adds to what’s already been a tough month for Strowman. Just two weeks earlier, on January 14, he was involved in a car accident that left him with a sore neck—another incident he shared candidly with fans.

Outside the ring, Strowman’s travel and food series Everything on the Menu continues to be a breakout success. Produced by WWE, the show highlights a more relaxed and relatable side of Scherr as he crisscrosses the country sampling regional dishes. The series has been renewed for a second season, showing fans that Strowman’s evolution from ring destroyer to food-loving host is connecting in a big way.

While he’s now home and recovering, Strowman made it clear—he’s not slowing down for long.

How do you see Braun Strowman’s future playing out after this health scare? Should he focus more on hosting, or will he make another run inside the ring? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
