Brandi Rhodes has finally addressed the viral “Cody Raheem Rhodes” meme — and she’s not bothered in the slightest.
During the second season of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, hosted by her husband Cody Rhodes, the couple reflected on their public image, family life, and how fans often poke fun in crowds and online. That’s when Cody brought up the infamous meme, and Brandi offered a calm, dismissive take.
The phrase “Cody Raheem Rhodes” was born out of Cody’s polarizing 2021 AEW promo where he spoke emotionally about being a white man married to a Black woman and having a biracial daughter. While meant to be sincere, the promo quickly turned into a meme, with sarcastic signs and posts showing up regularly in the years since.
In a moment that marked the first time either of them publicly acknowledged the meme, Cody asked Brandi what she thought of it. “What do you think about the Cody Raheem Rhodes things that you might see online or every now and then in the crowd?” Cody asked.
Brandi didn’t hesitate. “I don’t think anything about them. I see it all the time, and it’s whatever. Some people think it’s funny. That’s fine. It ain’t hurting.”
Cody followed up, asking if the meme offends her. Brandi responded plainly: “No, it’s just silly. It’s people just being silly.”
Brandi’s response wasn’t defensive, bitter, or even sarcastic — it was relaxed and measured. Rather than try to erase the meme or justify the promo, she made it clear she sees the joke for what it is and doesn’t feel the need to dignify it with outrage.
For fans expecting fireworks or a serious takedown, they got something else entirely: indifference. And that, in itself, might be the strongest response of all.
Do you think Brandi handled the “Cody Raheem Rhodes” meme the right way? Should she have taken a stronger stance, or was laughing it off the best move? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
