Booker T Trends After Named 2025 Worst Television Announcer

Booker T is trending — and not for the reason you might expect.

On Friday, February 13, 2026, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter released its 2025 Year-End Awards, and one category immediately set social media on fire. Booker T was named the 2025 WON Worst Television Announcer, finishing far ahead of other names on the list.

The published results showed Booker T receiving 516 votes, with Pat McAfee (123), Michael Cole (102), Vic Joseph (45), and Tony Schiavone (40) trailing behind.

The announcement quickly sparked backlash from fans who strongly disagreed with the outcome. Many took to social media to defend the WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT commentator.

One user pointed to Booker’s role in helping elevate talent on WWE NXT, particularly Trick Williams and Stephanie Vaquer, while questioning the rest of the commentary field.

“The same Booker T that helped Trick Williams & Stephanie Vaquer get over? Vic Joseph? They might be the only two that I like smh. The rest of them really don’t be doing shit. On black history month at that in terms of Booker T this comes out is crazy af.”

Others went even further, calling Booker one of the best to ever do it behind the desk.

Another fan argued that Booker stands out because he actually reacts to the action in front of him.
