Booker T isn’t here for the backlash over Bill Goldberg’s upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match—and he’s got a message for every former wrestler and young talent complaining about it.

On the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, the WWE legend made it crystal clear that anyone in Goldberg’s shoes would’ve taken the same opportunity. Booker kicked things off by calling out wrestlers from Goldberg’s era who have taken shots at the 58-year-old getting a shot at the world title against GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

“I want to reach out to all the the guys of that era of Goldberg, okay, and the guys of that era that are complaining about Goldberg,” Booker said. “Why does Goldberg get the shot? Why is he in this match?… The reason why he’s doing it, because it’s the same thing your ass would have did if WWE called you to be in a final match with Gunther in a prime time spot. That’s why.”

Booker didn’t hold back when it came to those still crying about it.

“So anybody out there complaining can just shut the hell up. Seriously,” he stated. “Because I know if they would have called me, I would have did it. And I know just about anybody that’s in that position, that’s that’s able to actually walk to that ring, they would have did it too.”

And it wasn’t just veterans Booker addressed. He sent a warning to younger talent who might be side-eyeing the decision.

“To the young guys who may have a problem with it, you better hope and wish and pray that you’re of the caliber of a Goldberg one day toward a company feel that you have that much to bring to the table still at that age, to bring you back to give to the fans one more time,” Booker added. “You better hope and pray that you’re in that position just one day. And trust me, guys, time flies.”

Goldberg’s final match will go down July 12 in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, where he’ll challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship. Booker is all for it.

“Goldberg, go out there and represent — represent like the OG can do, just one more time. Do it for me.”

Like it or not, Goldberg’s getting his shot—and if you ask Booker T, every single one of his critics would’ve taken the same deal if WWE called. Love him, hate him, or think his time has passed, Goldberg’s walking into Atlanta for one last fight. The only question now is… will he shock the world one more time?
