The issue between Jim Ross and D-Von Dudley centered on racism allegations D-Von said stemmed from their time together in WWE. In the end, he had a couple of incidents to speak on.

D-Von alleged Ross told Bubba Ray Dudley he disliked D-Von because he was Black and later ignored him in catering before allegedly doubling down when confronted. He said Ross appeared intoxicated during at least one encounter but added that he has forgiven Ross personally, despite never receiving an apology.

Ross denied all accusations, saying he has no recollection of the incidents and rejecting any claim of racism. In the end, D-Von said he’s open to squashing this beef, and so is Jim Ross.

During his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T brought up how this story was brought up a quarter of a century later. He said that “maybe if it was me, I’d feel a different way” on whether he would say something about it this many years later. He also admitted that, maybe, Jim Ross doesn’t remember saying this for reasons.

"Not to throw JR under the bus or anything, but back in the day, JR would drink a little bit. Maybe he forgot he said it. Maybe he said it as a joke."

The point was also made that D-Von said that Jim Ross said something, but it was denied. Then Booker T made an observation about the whole situation.

"The reason I say that is because I've had racial issues with certain people who's very, very well known that I could be talking about and people could be looking at that person when they're a totally different person today."

Booker T said that some things are better left buried, but some things “you can’t leave buried.” The WWE Hall of Famer doubled down to say, perhaps, Jim Ross simply doesn’t remember saying this to D-Von Dudley.

"Maybe he really doesn't remember it. Come on here, I'm being dead serious now, even though I'm laughing. I'm just saying that because I've had interactions with JR my whole wrestling career from WWE on, I had many, many -- JR signed me in WWE. JR was very instrumental in me telling my story about me being locked up and, perhaps, saving some other kid -- I'm not saying that to save JR, but then again I've had a lot of experiences that are very different for people of color in this business."

Booker T did say that he’s had a different road in the pro wrestling business, but it didn’t come without him having to stand up for himself. He said that there was a point where he was willing to get fired. That being said, he never seemed to have experienced any racism from Good ‘ole JR.
