Booker T is giving Trick Williams major flowers ahead of WWE NXT Battleground—and he’s not holding back on the praise.

During the GLORY 3: Live Stream Kickoff for Reality of Wrestling, Booker and Brad Gilmore took a moment to reflect on Trick’s live diss track aimed at TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. And for Booker, the performance wasn’t just good—it hit spiritual levels.

The track, titled “Average Joe,” aired during the May 20 episode of NXT. It featured Trick firing shots at Hendry for being nothing special, even claiming Hendry’s own mother called him average. But what stood out wasn’t just the lyrics—it was the way Trick controlled the energy of the room. Booker lit up as he described how the segment felt to him.

“Trick moves the crowd like an MC—he’s doing his job.”

He said Trick’s performance was so charged, it reminded him of something much deeper than wrestling.

“When the party jump, it’s an emotion. It’s a feeling inside. It’s like going to church and you just start shouting, man. That’s the Holy Ghost inside you.”

Even as some fans online criticized Booker for joining in on the mic during the segment, he made it clear he had no regrets—and insisted it only made the moment stronger.

“My mic, man! Look here, everybody was feeling it. I’m telling you—it made it so much better. For me as a fan watching. Because when you feel that energy? It’s just like church, man.”

Brad Gilmore echoed Booker’s sentiment and made it clear that Trick was in full control from the moment he walked out.

“We gotta give my boy Trick Williams a pat on the back. That little diss track this week, man. That boy just came out smoking…”

With Trick Williams set to face Joe Hendry this Sunday at NXT Battleground in Tampa for the TNA World Championship, the diss track wasn’t just a lyrical jab—it was a statement. And Booker T believes Trick’s got the kind of presence that can’t be taught.

Trick didn’t just spit bars—he lit a fire. Now the question is whether he can carry that same energy into the ring and leave Tampa with gold.
