Booker T isn’t backing down after catching heat for pulling up in his Tesla Cybertruck — and he’s making it clear he couldn’t care less what anyone thinks.
The WWE Hall of Famer pulled up to the March 17 episode of WWE NXT in the futuristic ride, but not all the attention was positive. Some fans immediately took issue with the Cybertruck, and the criticism followed him straight onto his Hall of Fame podcast — where Booker decided to address it head-on. After hearing the backlash, Booker made it clear he doesn’t understand the hate and isn’t about to change his lifestyle for anyone.
“I got a lot of heat for rolling up in my Cybertruck too. I don’t know why — just fans. A lot of fans hate the Cybertruck. I don’t know why. Maybe they think I’m, you know… I don’t know what they think.”
Instead of backing off, Booker leaned into it — explaining that his mindset has always been about embracing the future, no matter what people say. He didn’t stop there. Booker also defended the vehicle itself, comparing it to classic luxury cars and pointing out the comfort it provides him — especially physically.
“But I’m like this — for you young people out there, I’ve been waiting on the future since I was a kid. I’m not going to leave this world without having self-drive mode and all that stuff to get me around town. I’m not leaving without it. So I’m trying all the gadgets before I get up out of here. Don’t hate me for riding in a Cybertruck. And I’ll tell you, it feels like one of those big cars from back in the day, like a Continental LTD. It’s huge. There’s so much room. My knee isn’t hurting when I’m driving. You can say whatever you want about the truck, but I like it and I’m going to keep driving it.”
Even with the backlash, Booker made it clear he’s not slowing down when it comes to futuristic tech — in fact, he’s already thinking about what’s next. And if there was any doubt about where he stands, Booker closed things out with a statement that sums up his entire approach to life — chasing innovation and refusing to miss out.
“I’m even thinking about getting a Model X. It’s crazy, man. When you hear people talk like that — like, ‘He pulled up in a Cybertruck and now I don’t like him’ — it’s like, are you kidding me? So my thing is, if it’s future-related, I want it. If I can get a car that can fly before I get out of here, I’m getting one. I’m serious.”
Booker T clearly isn’t letting online criticism dictate how he lives — and if anything, the backlash has only reinforced his stance. He’s embracing the future on his terms, whether people like it or not.
